Avid Media Composer v5 is now shipping!

Avid is pleased to announce that Avid Media Composer v5, Avid Symphony v5 and Avid NewsCutter v9 are now shipping as of, June
10, 2010. Customers can purchase a new system or upgrade their existing editing software to these newly released products.

Upgrades

In addition, Avid Support customers and any customer that purchased Avid Media Composer v4.X, Avid Symphony v4.X or Avid NewsCutter v8.X from April 12, 2010 through June 10, 2010
will be eligible for a free upgrade of their editing software. Customers who purchased those versions during this window will be contacted with instructions on how to get the latest release free. For those who can’t wait:

This presentation will be featured on Assimilate Scratch in a Unity environment with a full MFX export and import to Avid Media Composer.

Editorial in Avid Media Composer 5 – Directly access and edit RED files through AMA, without transcoding. Work natively with more file-based media formats now and in the future. With the new and improved AMA, you can speed up RED workflows by directly accessing RED files (.R3D) in Media Composer without having to prepare them through MetaFuze.
