Cine-tal Hosts Los Angeles Open House

October 9, 2008 Leave a comment

Cine-tal has generated a great deal of interest in its Davio Image Processor since it was introduced at NAB 2008. Well Davio is finally here and shipping. Davio features a programmable architecture that allows users to change how Davio works by simply changing a flash card. Common processing applications for Davio include 3D LUT, stereo LUT, and monitor calibration tools.

Speaking of calibration, that’s where CineSpace comes in. CineSpace gives you the software tools for profiling video displays and creating 1D and 3D calibration LUTs for use in Davio, 3rd party software applications, or other 3D LUT processors. You can also combine calibration LUTs with a desired target look in mind, such as a particular film stock.

Of course you need a high quality display to see all of this great processing. We are pleased to be showing the Cinemáge Monitor with an all new panel and version 3 software. The new panel features an increased viewing angle and a wider color gamut. Version 3 software features support for 2K sized images and XYZ color.

The event will take place at two venues:

·         Tuesday, October 14 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City. Hours are from 12:30-7:30pm.

·         Thursday, October 16 at the Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica. Hours are from 11:00-7:30pm.

Please RSVP via email to mark@mprosystems.net and you will receive precise details of each event including location and room numbers.

NewTek DataLink

October 9, 2008 Leave a comment

NewTek DataLink is a TriCaster and VT[5] plug-in that dynamically updates titles and overlays from external text feeds. With DataLink, any Title Template can access data across the network and, in real-time, display scores, times, prices or any other rapidly-changing information on screen.

With DataLink installed, ‘key’ entries from a field means that this field will be replaced with a live feed from, for example, the Daktronics’ clock input. There are no limits to the number of different feeds on a page, and the entries can mix with other text.

All text properties, alignments and fonts in the template are preserved.

DataLink can read input from almost any database, shred file folders or xml files. DataLink instantly updates your TriCaster with accurate, immediate data and is already compatible with existing systems, including Daktronics scoreboards, IDS, OES and WhiteWay feeds.

The flexibility of auto-updating extends to static data as well. DataLink monitors changes made within xml files, and can monitor changes within text files.

DataLink is compatible with nearly all databases accessible by ADO, which includes database servers that have support for connection strings. See all compatible applications at http://connectionstrings.com

Given all this flexibility, you still have the ability to customize DataLink to your own needs with NewTek’s freely-supplied Software Development Kit.

System Requirements:

·          A NewTek TriCaster running TriCaster Software Upgrade 2.0 or higher, or

·          A NewTek VT[5] system, version 5.2 or higher

·          An available COM port if connecting to external scoreboard hardware

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – October 9, 2008 – NewTek Inc., manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, today announced the release of DataLink, a TriCaster and VT[5] plug-in that links data from external feeds, files or databases to display real-time, rapidly-changing information, such as statistics, scored, times and other dynamic information.

“NewTek engineers understand the pressures involved with producing a fast-paced event,” said Dr. Andrew Cross, executive vice president of engineering, NewTek Inc. “By automatically providing accurate real-time information, DataLink reduces stress and enables producers to focus on other key aspects of the event.”

DataLink provides dedicated support for several different brands of existing systems, including Daktronics, IDS, OES, and White Way, and is compatible with any application that supports connection strings, including database servers. (For a complete listing of compatible applications, see www.connectionstrings.com).

DataLink monitors changes made within files, updating the display throughout the live broadcast and preserving all custom text properties, alignment and fonts assigned in the CG template. NewTek provides a free software development kit to give users even more flexibility to customize DataLink to their individual requirements.
